I Shall Believe

As with all of my brothers in sisters in Christ, there are periods of time in which the battle seems to be too great, the circumstances too overwhelming and the odds of success, minimal.  The evil one loves these times....  During these times, when we are at our weakest and our faith is questionable, his efforts to move us to a place of apostasy gain momentum.  When that happens, we have a choice to make; accept defeat or rally the troops for an all out counter-attack.

If you are reading this, my prayer is that you have chosen to fight as I have...

I have been weakened in my efforts as of late.  As I was sitting in church last Sunday listening to our Pastor speak, a song came into my head which stuck with me all day.  The following day, David sent out our intercessors prayer request which spoke of my current struggles.  Again, the song came into my head...

The evil one would love for me to minimize my current struggles as unimportant and minimal.  And to be honest, given the condition of our brothers and sisters around the world, they are.  This battle is, however, important to me as it directly affects where I believe God has called me to be.

Today, I reject the lies and deception of the evil one and reclaim all that I am in Christ.  Today, I find victory, joy, hope and faith in God through my personal Savior Jesus Christ.  Today, I choose to fight...

"but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." (Isaiah 40:31)

Open the door
And show me your face tonight
I know it's true
No one heals me like you
And you hold the key

Never again
would I turn away from you
I'm so heavy tonight
But your love is alright
And I do believe

That not everything is gonna be the way
You think it ought to be
It seems like every time I try to make it right
It all comes down on me
Please say honestly
You won't give up on me
And I shall believe
I shall believe

I believe in you, my brothers and sisters.  May you find and renew your strength in our God through Christ.  Stand firm in your faith!

Your brother in Christ,

Jim
