Grandpa Dave, Part Two

Christopher Landon Levi Kortje-Trotter
presented himself to this world, into this Matrix, at approximately 4:40 PM on June 16, 2009. My daughter Alisha, who is now officially the toughest woman I know, pushed for three long hours, to the point of shear and utter exhaustion, to finally deliver this nine pound, seven ounce baby boy … my grandson.

For my part, I ‘patiently’ waited in the hospital doctor’s lounge, praying earnestly, as my wife and the baby’s father attended to Alisha in the delivery suite.  As I learned of my daughter’s lack of progress in the delivery, and as her physician began discussing the possibility of a c-section, my prayers became even more intense as I lifted Alisha and my yet unseen grandson before the King of Kings.

Then, in an act of utter brilliance that could only happen in the twenty-first century, I posted a prayer request on my Face Book page.  Now you have to understand, this is huge for me.  While I love to pray for others, I hate asking for prayer.  God has in fact been fathering me on this very topic for the last few months, and so, feeling rather silly, I post my need.  Literally, not more than five minutes later, my wife calls and informs me that Landon has arrived!

Thus begins the story of Grandpa Dave and my grandson Landon.  Already, at the ripe old age of moments old, he is teaching me kingdom principles.

Stay tuned ... this could be good.

To the King,

David
