Being Comfortable

Recently I was presented with an opportunity that caused me to have some serious discussions with God about what His calling on my life was really all about.  You see, I have been operating for the past couple of years under the belief that I understood not only what God was calling me to, but also where He was calling me to.  And I must admit that operating under those parameters for the past couple of years has provided me with a certain amount of comfort.  The territory was familiar, I understood the battles in that area and could successfully navigate the "land mines" still undone and most importantly, I had been provided with an opportunity to grow and fight with a group of warriors that I knew would cover me when I was vulnerable.  While the training that I have received during this time has been invaluable, it would appear now that God is leading me to a new training location which will cause me to grow in an area that I don't believe I can obtain in my current comfortable surroundings.

Outside of comfort, lies Faith.

As I prepare for my journey, as I prepare to leave my comfortable and familiar surroundings and as I prepare to walk and trust not in what is seen, but what is unseen, I am reminded of the note that I left to myself several years ago.  About that time, I very boldly and permanently had tattooed on my right arm the Greek words "Gnothi Seauton" and a Cross with the scripture reference to Galatians 2:20.  Here is the translation and the scripture that I left for myself as a reminder...

Know Thyself.  "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.  The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."

I would covet your prayers as I begin my journey...

Your brother in Christ,

Jim
